Credit Compass is an offline personal-finance and credit-health education application. This policy applies to version 1.1.0.
Credit Compass requests the READ_SMS permission to scan your SMS messages for financial notifications from banks, billers, and lenders. This allows the app to identify patterns such as EMI payments, bill due dates, bank credits/debits, and balance alerts, which are used to calculate an educational credit-health score.
What happens to your SMS data:
The transactions, budget amount, and optional self-check responses that you enter are saved only in the app's private storage on your device. The app does not request access to contacts, call logs, location, camera, files, bank accounts, advertising identifiers, or notifications.
The self-check and SMS-based score are educational tools. They are not a consumer credit report, credit score, bureau record, lending decision, or financial advice. They do not affect an actual credit record or eligibility for any product.
You can delete all locally stored app data at any time by using Android Settings → Apps → Credit Compass → Storage → Clear storage, or by uninstalling the app. To revoke SMS access, use Android Settings → Apps → Credit Compass → Permissions → SMS → Deny.
If a future version changes its data practices, this policy and the Google Play Data safety form will be updated before that version is released.
